"I agree we need to become Industry 4.0, but we cannot abandon the existing industries that still run our economy. We have to realise becoming Industry 4.0 is not that easy," says Mr Somchai. The Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) has expressed the same concern, blaming the educational system for producing lots of university graduates but few that match the needs of Thai industries. "Amending the law or the educational model would take one or two decades to produce local talent that could lead to Industry 4.0.
